Macau in March, day 2.
As usual, I couldn't sleep well and woke up after 2 hours of sleep.
Hmm, I wonder how to sleep well in Macau.
Once I woke up, I felt like I was already in a casino.
I quickly got ready and tried my luck at baccarat.
As usual, I bet 1000 on P at the first table I saw.
P A A
B Picture 5
Hmm, it's tough.
When I narrowed down the third P...
4 sides... no good
Following on from yesterday, I lost my luck test.
Don't worry, I'll save my luck and get going!
I moved to Studio City, my main battlefield, and started with BJ.
I sat at a table with a min 300.
And then...
There was no super strong dealer and no burst festival mode, so I played happily, but my chips didn't change.
I took a short break with 3-card poker.
I got a few flushes and straights and made a small profit.
Now, it's time for another BJ.
This time, I win more and my chips increase.
Great, this is great.
Feeling good, I left Studio City and headed to the Venetian.
Today, the Venetian was packed with people, people, people, people...
Somehow, I managed to sneak into an empty seat at the 500 BJ and the battle began.
There was no burst festival mode here either, but I steadily won and made a decent profit.
Great!
Let's keep going!
And then,
I started to lose more and gave back the chips I had won.
Damn, am I getting too cocky?
I'll call it a day before I sink too low.
And so, I left the Venetian and headed to COD across the street.
The BJ at COD was...
Three min500 machines and one 2000 machine.
Hmm, 2000? ? ?
I look at the table and see a person sitting with a big, unfamiliar bunch of red chips.
After watching for a while, I see that he is betting over 10,000 HKD at once.
I see, he has his min and max increased and is betting on a high amount of money.
One day, that person bets 16,000.
The cards dealt are 8 8.
The dealer is a 6.
He adds 16,000 and splits!
He gets a 2, adds another 16,000 and doubles!
A 5 comes, making a total of 15.
Another 8, then a 3, and doubles for another 16,000!
A 6 comes, making a total of 17.
The dealer draws a 6.
The person shouts, "Cone!!!"
A 5 comes out, making it 21!!!
16,000 x 4 = 64,000 disappears in bubbles.
Scary, scary!
That's what BJ has...
With splits and doubles, you need a maximum of 8 times your initial bet.
When it's that big a gamble, it's exciting and fun, but if you lose, the damage is big.
I can't count the number of times I've been betrayed by the dealer's upcards of 5 and 6.
But when you win, it feels great...
Intimidated by this guy's high-value bets, I ended up not playing COD.
I played a little on the slots and went back to the Conrad Hotel.
I ended the second day with a slight profit.
I'll keep going like this for the next two days.
